Selection Process

The selection process is conducted through the Program Coordinating Commission (PCC) and is made up by three assessments:
1) Curriculum analysis based on the documents handed at application.
2) Discussion for those appointed after the Curriculum analysis on the following subjects:
– Master’s degree: Activities developed and intended.
– Doctor’s degree: Activities carried out and proposal for research. Applicants for Doctor’s degree that have not yet determined the research project can expound their motivations and intentions towards the graduation course and how their professional interests relate to the USP-EP-PEQ proposals, organized under the format of a project.
3) Proficiency in English. The applicants shall present a certificate of proficiency in English in accordance with the lowest score stated in the admission notice. Cases in which an exemption from the exam can be granted are also set forth in the admission notice.
Scolarships
The program has a limited number of CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and CAPES institutional scholarships for regular Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree students that are interested in carrying out full time the activities of the research project. The available scholarships will be granted to the applicants in the selection process based on their performance in the tests and evaluations. Scholarships for research projects are also available in the research groups of the program; please, contact the advisers for further details.
No Tuition Fees are charged by the University of São Paulo.
